Panun homestay. Located far at the tip of the island chain and where almost all of our trips start. The island is our Misool base where the guides stay and where we maintain and store all our kayaking equipment.
They have 3 bungalows and 8 rooms. and each room comes in either two single bed or one double bed configurations. All rooms have their own shower and toilet. They all come equipped with an AC unit.
The homestay also has a vast dining/communal area with a terrace that faces west for good views of the sunset. The chef is also top notch and cooks very good Indonesian style dishes.
The island is also quite big and has a beach. That means if you want to have some quiet time by yourself you can wander the island and find a nice spot where you won’t be disturbed. There are coconut trees also on the island and you can request some coconuts to sip on while watching the sunset. Truly a picturesque tropical island.
The long jetty is also good to hangout on and fish if you bring your fishing pole.
There is a house reef for good snorkeling and there is also the Balbulol Islands that are about 15 minutes by boat from the island that offers good sight-seeing and snorkeling. If you are extremely lucky, on a clear full moon night you might spot turtles coming onto the beach to lay their eggs and see the baby turtles hatch and swim out to sea.
Aside from turtles, the island is also home to coconut crabs which you can see at night if you make a trip to the south beach which you can arrange with the nice owner of the island.
If you’d like to make calls in the middle of the day you can do so because there is some signal where the restaurant is but, if you’d like to have better signal there is a peak you can climb. The peak also has the added bonus of good views so you can call your friends and family while overlooking the house reef from above.
Electricity is available only from 6pm to 6am only. During then you can charge all your appliances and use our Starlink wifi (25k per person per night).
A bonus for dog lovers. There are currently 3 dogs on the island, they are very friendly… maybe a little too friendly sometimes, but they are well mannered.
