Unsupported Expedition trips to two atoll islands groups that are totally different to Misool. Camping only as it is a non exploited area with no tourism at all. No one has kayaked here before us. Amazing snorkeling as second activity. This is a real adventure with get lost in atolls, very nice beaches, and it’s a dream trip for snorkel lovers!

4 star – For intermediate to expert kayakers. This trip includes long kayaking days with no homestay. Only camping. Kayaking and camping experience necessary.

- 9 days kayaking there off 4 days with empty kayaks

It is possible to arrive by flight the same day the trip starts. For the flights out, it’s possible first after the trip has ended e.g. the day 13.

This video was made during a very long kayaking trip by help of a live on board boat. This trip made only 1,5 days in the area. So note, it’s only a few atolls and islands in this video of many more unexplored! Why not come and discover the other unexplored atolls and islands to find out much more?
Itinerary
Day 1 – Briefing in Sorong.
Day 2 – Speed boat transport to the starting point. Short village visit and start kayaking to camp 1. Snorkeling at the lunch stop.
Day 3 – Paddling from Camp 1 to Camp 2 by exploring several atolls. Morning and lunch snorkeling.
Day 4 – Paddle up in a small river and visit a cave. Long paddling day. No planned snorkeling.
Day 5 – Camp 2 to Camp 3 via a first Big Mangrove atoll. Snorkeling stop at lunch and in the afternoon.
Day 6 – Either a full snorkeling day or a paddling day with 2 shorter snorkeling stops. Or a relaxing day.
Day 7 – First paddle a second Big Mangrove atoll. Local boat transport to a small jungle atoll islands to Camp 4. Long snorkeling at arrival.
Day 8 – Long snorkeling in the morning. Paddle to the Jungle-sand-spa atoll and back.
Day 9 – To North Big Jungle island for Camp 5 via standing forest in water. Long snorkeling before lunch on incredible reefs.
Day 10 – First some paddling in standing forest and continue to the West Big Jungle island for Camp 6. Long snorkeling at lunch.
Day 11 – Relaxed day with snorkeling or trekking. Kayaks will be picked up at lunch.
Day 12 – Local boat transport first in the early morning followed by speedboat transport back to Sorong and end of the trip.
Detailed itinerary
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included every day except for day 1 no meals included) and day 12 only breakfast and lunch included.
NOTE! This itinerary is preliminary and may vary due to weather conditions or other unforeseen events.
Day 1 (briefing and get together day)
We will start the trip with meeting up at a restaurant at 5 and have a briefing about the trip if you have not made other agreements with Millekul Adventures. If so, we will meet earlier in the afternoon in our guesthouse in Sorong, where you can also leave your bags. Accommodation is not included the first night and is of your own choice. It’s also possible to book an overnight stay in our guesthouse. Contact us to make an agreement regarding our guesthouse.
Day 2 (transport and paddling day 1)
At dawn we will leave Sorong with a speedboat and reach a Christian village island after approx 4 hours. Where we will walk around in the village for a bit before starting to kayak. We set the kayaks up and first do rescue practise. Later pack your personal belongings and your food plus water for the day. When ready we will kayak over to our lunch beach 2 km away from the village. After lunch and a first great snorkel trip of around 500 m we will continue to kayak. We pass a second village and when enter a huge mangrove bay there we will discover the west side. Approx. 17 km paddling in total with rather empty kayaks. First night in a tent with fans at Camp 1 at the stream mouth of the huge mangrove bay.
Day 3 (paddling day 2)
In the early morning we break down the camp. We can after that start the day with a long drift snorkel session of around 800 m and get back to the camp beach with kayaks coming by a guide, a wet reentry needed! After that we pack the kayaks and go for explore the east side of the huge mangrove bay with some standing forest and mangroves. Out on the see, a short open water passage to a smaller mangrove atoll that we pass the inside straight through. On the other side a lunchstop at a beach and a snorkeling trip up to 600 m. We paddle the rest to Camp 2 to a small beautiful paradise island and we have two islands to choose between. Approx. 15 to 17 km paddling in total with fully loaded kayaks. First camping night at Camp 2.
Day 4 (paddling day 3)
We wake up in our first basecamp and maybe start the morning with a swim? Or try snorkelling? Today we are going for a longer day trip with empty kayaks. First pass some smaller islands and when go along a bigger island that has some blue mangrove. Pass over a big sand dune with a fisherman house on stilts. Continue over some coral heads to a beach on the main island for lunch and listening to the jungle orkester at same time. Continue by paddle up in a small river and after continue for visit a cave we heard about but we have not explored yet! We go back another straighter way to our basecamp island. Approx. 16 to 24 km paddling in total with empty kayaks. Shorter if do a straight route and longer if make a wider route as described above. Second camping night at Camp 2.
Day 5 (paddling day 4)
In the morning we break down the camp, breakfast and pack the kayaks for again go and explore new areas no one has kayaked before. The first destination is a big mangrove atoll with several small mangrove islands inside. We take a smaller mangrove passage out and on the outside we make a lunch stop at beach with good coral reefs. 500 m snorkeling possible. We make a crossover to a small naked sand islands with fishermen houses on stilts. Here we make a second snorkelling of around 400 m at healthy reefs. We continue to a cluster of small paradise islands for set up our second base camp, Camp 3 on the North Island. Approx. 13 to 16 km paddling in total with full kayaks. Depends on which island we have Camp 2. First camping night at Camp 3.
Day 6 (paddling day 5 or a full snorkeling day)
We wake up in our beautiful basecamp and maybe start the morning with a short snorkel? Today we have several alternatives after breakfast. First alternative, make a full snorkeling day on incredible reefs with a lunch stop on the reef at a fisherman house with stilts. The guide are following with the empty kayaks. In the early afternoon kayak back. Snorkeling distance 2 km or more. Same paddling distance back but an exciting detour is possible with our empty kayaks! Second alternative, make a kayaking trip with empty kayaks to surrounding paradise island and have shorter snorkeling stops, at lunch up to 1 km and at PM up to 600 m. Approx. 12 km paddling with empty kayaks. Third alternative is to relax in the basecamp and maybe go snorkeling on our basecamp reef. Second camping night at Camp 3.
Day 7 (paddling day 6)
In the morning we break down the camp, breakfast and pack the kayaks for go and explore a different second mangrove atoll. First visits a nice beach followed by enter through channels to the inside with some mangrove labyrints. Exit by a longer channel with big coral heads and well out go to nearby beach for lunch. We get picked up by local long boats for be transported over open water to the jungle atoll island group. We arrive to a smaller jungle atoll island there we first make a snorkelling of the reef from the long boat, up to 1,3 km snorkeling. We are set on land on the smaller jungle atoll island there we put up Camp 4, a third base camp. Approx. 7 km paddling with full kayaks. First camping night at Camp 4.
Day 8 (paddling day 7)
Wake up on our beautiful beach and have an early morning walk on the long beach to find nice shells maybe? Today we go first by kayak by some blue mangrove inside the small atoll up to the opening in the north. From there we start drift snorkel the whole way back to the camp while guide take our kayaks back. Up to 1,5 km. After we cross over to the larger jungle sand-spa atoll for explore that. First a lunch in the inlet channel. Go around the inner part of atoll with many sand dunes and several fisherman huts on stilts. Maybe go over to an outside nice bay or swim around in some blue spa pools? Back to our basecamp for second camping night at Camp 4. Approx. 15 km paddling with empty kayaks.
Day 9 (paddling day 8)
Time to leave again and in the morning we take down the camp, have breakfast and pack the kayaks for go. First we explore a close by mini atoll and when we go to a bigger atoll there we will do a long snorkelling on incredible reefs, up to 1,5 km and the guide take our kayaks from there you want to start. Enter the kayaks again at fisherman huts on stilts. We paddle 2,5 km further to the big jungle atoll and a nice beach. Time for a lunch in the shade of a big tree. Walking on the super long beach possible if you don’t want to have a siesta! After lunch paddle further in standing forest in water to a ”lake” and after do a long channel between the trees and the sea. Also some blue mangrove in the end. Continue in to the big bay and go north to the North channel out and have a nice beach camp with the whole sea to the north as view. Approx. 16 km paddling with full kayaks. One night camping at Camp 5.
Day 10 (paddling day 9)
We break our single night camp for explore more close by standing forest in the water. Maybe check out a second place too for that. Continue south to the coral edge and pass some fishermen huts on stilts. Jump in from the kayaks for a long snorkel again, this time its possible up to 1,6 km. Up in the kayaks at another fisherman hut on stilts. Lunch before or after the snorkeling. We continue around the island to the west side to our last basecamp in a very beautiful small bay with incredible corals and white sand. And super sunsets! Approx. 10 km paddling with full kayaks. First camping night at Camp 6.
Day 11 (relaxing, trekking or snorkeling day)
We stay in our basecamp and we can either go snorkel the amazing coral reef around the bay, around 1 km or go trekking either on the long beaches or inland in the jungle and coconut palm plantation. Or why don’t do a last morning kayaking for discover more of the island? Or just relax in our hammocks. Lunch and dinner in the basecamp. After lunch the kayaks are picked up for prepare for the next group (not for the second group!). We have hopefully a nice sunset before go to sleep our last night camping. Second camping night at Camp 6.
Day 12 (transport day)
In early morning break our last camp and pack. The local long boats pick us up for take us back to the village. We arrive to the village around 10 o’clock and can have a short walk there. Maybe buy a cold soda at the kiosk and give many high fives to all the kids?
To the speedboat that will take us back to Sorong and we will arrive around 4 PM. We will have a taxi back to our guesthouse and you could arrange your own accommodation or book a stay with us. In the evening a farewell dinner and maybe more after if you want to try the Sorong nightlife?

Here are our schedules and availability of the Expedition trips for our first trial season 2025/2026.
During our first trial season 2025/2026, Millekul Adventures will have 2 Expedition trips in the fall and 2 Expedition trips in the spring. This so the 2 Expedition trips can share the costs for transport over all kayak and camping equipment from Misool and back. But also to share one speedboat transport. If the Expedition trips are a success, we will make more trips season 2026/2027 and season 2027/2028. These schedules will come later after our evaluation in spring 2025/2026.
2025 / 2026
What is included
The trip price covers all costs from the day the trip starts and to the last day of the trip in accordance with our trip specification.
Included in the price:
- Speedboat transfer out and back to Sorong.
- Food, fruit, water & snacks during the whole trip
- All the boat transport in the trip
- All kayaking gear (kayak, sprayskirt, paddle, PFD etc.)
- All camping equipment (tents with small fans, sleeping mats, batteries for charging cameras, stoves etc.)
- Raja Ampat Marine Park entry permit and all fees/permits for kayaking in Raja Ampat.
- English speaking Indonesian kayaking guides
- Biodegradable soap, shampoo, cleaning agents, mosquito repellent and 100% marine safe sunscreen
- Satellite phones, first aid kits, complete medicine bags, jellyfish sting treatment, emergency plan and evacuation by speedboat
Not included in the price:
- Personal travel insurance
- Air fares/travel to the meeting point in Sorong
- Visa and passport charges
- Airport transfers and airport departure taxes
- Excess baggage charges
- Vaccinations and medicines for your trip
- Hotel nights on the trip to/from Sorong. Hotel nights in Sorong
- Alcoholic beverages
- Extra meals or drinks not included in the itinerary
- Expenses of personal character as single room supplement, laundry and other personal items as snorkeling equipment, headlamp etc.

We negotiate the best prices for the logistics of the trips and the permissions for camping with the local villages that own the islands and guide you to the most memorable spots and places to camp. As you book your flights yourself, you have the freedom to plan some more activities before or after our trip. We are happy to give you advice on what to see before and after our trips and help you with the bookings if needed.

During our first trial season 2025/2026, Millekul Adventures will only have 2 Expedition trips in the fall and 2 Expedition trips in the spring. We have these trips straight after each others to share the costs for transport over all kayak and camping equipment from Misool and back. But it’s also for share one speedboat transport. This to get down the trip price.
NOTE! These prices presented here are if both trips are made after each other so it’s based on shared costs between the 2 trips. If there is only one trip booked and if it’s going to be made only one trip, it will be a higher price. Contact us for updated price information. In the schedules you can see the updated booking situation online.
If the Expedition trips are a success, we will make more trips season 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 and so on.
